Genetics offers prenatal genetic testing (i.e. DNA paternity test) of amniotic fluid
or chorionic villi samples (CVS) to determine paternity
for expecting mothers.
These
samples can be acquired with the consent of the client's
doctor and then shipped to the Paragon laboratory for analysis.
Collection of both these types of samples is medically intrusive
and must be performed by a qualified doctor after discussions
with our laboratory. We do not encourage this type of testing
due to the high risk to the mother and fetus associated
with it.
We
also do not suggest that CVS fluid should be extracted from
the mother for the sole purpose of a DNA paternity test. If
the fluid is removed for medical reasons, then and only
then would it be an advisable option for a DNA paternity test.
The
cost is $550.00 US for Paragon to do a cheap DNA paternity test on
amniotic fluid or to do a DNA paternity test using chorionic villi samples.
We will supply the necessary medical containers for the
samples at no extra cost if required. This price does not
include your costs for the doctor or your insurance.
Prenatal
DNA paternity test for these samples are optimally done during the 10th
to 20th week of pregnancy. Our laboratory test results will
be guaranteed to match the industry standard of 99.99% accuracy
regarding DNA paternity tests. We will be able to let you know conclusively
within 10 business days who the father is. A sample of the
putative father DNA will be required for comparison and
we will supply a sampling swab for him when we send you
our sampling information kit.
